Paleo caramel sauce

Homemade Caramel Sauce – Paleo, Dairy Free


  • ½ cup coconut sugar
  • ¼ cup ghee
  • ¼ cup coconut milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla


  1. Combine coconut sugar, ghee and coconut milk in a saucepan.
  2. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
  3. Once boiling, decrease heat to low-medium.
  4. Boil for 5-7 minutes until slightly thickened.*
  5. Remove from heat and let cool.
  6. Once slightly cooled, transfer to a glass jar.
  7. Keep refrigerated.

Recipe Notes

*You’ll know it’s thick enough when it begins to coat the side of the saucepan.

*Do not let it boil for longer than the recommended time, unless you want hard caramels.

*The caramel will thicken even more as it cools.
