Today I want to tell you about 5 herbs and spices that are antiviral and antibacterial. This is a great time to load up on herbs and spices.

All of these herbs and spices are antiviral and antibacterial, but I’m also going to tell you about many additional benefits of each of these herbs and spices.

5 Herbs to Help With Cold and Flu

1. Garlic

The first one is garlic. Garlic is also anti-inflammatory, anti-fungal and anti-cancerous. It’s a powerful antibiotic. One clove of crushed garlic equals 100,000 units of penicillin. Garlic also helps to detox heavy metals and eliminate parasites from your body.

2. Ginger

The second one is ginger. Ginger has anti-inflammatory, immune-boosting and pain-killing properties. Ginger also helps to lower your blood pressure and lower your cholesterol.

3. Cilantro

The third one is the cilantro. Cilantro is loaded with antioxidants. It’s also very helpful for detoxing heavy metals, which is why it’s included in the recipe that I shared for heavy metal detox. This is not my recipe but it’s very effective for detoxing heavy metals. Cilantro supports your stomach, your spleen, your adrenals, your thyroid, your pancreas, your bladder and your lungs.

Now a lot of people don’t like the taste of cilantro. So, if that is you, you can get an extract and, in fact, you can get all of these, or at least most of these, as supplements, and they’re much more powerful as supplements anyway.

4. Oregano

The next two herbs are loaded with antioxidants, vitamins and minerals. The first one is oregano. Oregano has the most antioxidants of all the herbs. Oregano is also anti-fungal. It can be used as a toothache remedy, and it’s beneficial for your skin, so you could add it to your bath for example. Oregano is also helpful for digestion.

I’ve got a little story for you about oregano so that you can really understand how powerful it is. My husband and I were taking oil of oregano. A couple years ago, we took it for about two weeks. I noticed during that time, a small wart that I’d had on my finger for 2-3 years was all of a sudden gone. I hadn’t done anything else. I thought it must be the oil of oregano.

My husband had a larger wart on his knee and he had had it for a few years. So I asked him if he still had that wart on his knee. And sure enough, it was gone as well.

Oregano, as it is an anti-fungal, was able to completely eliminate our warts.

5. Thyme
