I love this book! It is a fantastic resource for green smoothies. I have tried many recipes from this book and there are very few that I don’t like. I made a couple of very minor tweaks to some recipes. For example, some of their recipes call for water and I always use coconut water instead. Also, I also add a tablespoon of flax seeds to my smoothies. However, these minor tweaks certainly are not necessary; they are just my preference. I highly recommend this book. It gets a 5-star rating on Amazon.

This woman knows her stuff as she has been juicing for over 40 years. This book is packed with over 200 recipes – mostly juicing recipes, of course, but there are also smoothie recipes, nut milk and milkshake recipes as well as juicing for specific health conditions. In addition, she includes information regarding the health benefits of specific veggies, fruits, herbs and spices as well as a chapter on detoxification and cleansing. This book gets a 5-star rating on Amazon.

Elana’s Pantry is arguably one of the most well-known gluten-free/paleo blogs. Her almond flour recipes are simply delicious. There are 99 family-friendly classic recipes that are low glycemic, low in cholesterol and dairy, and high in protein and fiber which makes them perfect for people with diabetes, obesity or high cholesterol. Doesn’t that cake look delicious? It’s quite frankly the reason I bought the book. My mouth is still watering. This book gets a 4-star rating on Amazon. If you have a bit of a sweet tooth and you love desserts but you cannot have many of the typical ingredients used in most dessert recipes, or if you’re just looking for healthier desserts, you’ve just hit the jackpot! This book includes over 80 delicious recipes including Chocolate Obsession Cake, Peanut Butter Pudding Pops and Ultimate Unbaked Brownies, to name a few. This book gets a 5-star rating on Amazon.

This woman is a genius! She makes delicious recipes with a very low budget thanks to her determination to eat healthy and her degree in nutritional science. Eat well and cut your grocery bill in half. The cost of each ingredient and total are included – many recipes, if not most or all recipes, cost under $5 to make. I have tried many of her recipes and, although they lack expensive ingredients, they do not lack taste. This book contains over 100 simple, healthy, delicious recipes and gets a 5 star rating on Amazon.

Similar to my blog, Detox Your Life, this book includes recipes that use food as medicine, that eliminate any ailments you may have, even cure auto-immune disease. There is also a section with healthy recipes that kids will enjoy. The recipes are free of grains, gluten, dairy and refined sugar. This book gets a 4.5 star rating on Amazon.
