Foods That Cause Sinus Congestion
*Information from this post comes from the Medical Medium.
If you have a sinus infection or a lung infection or you have problems with your sinuses or your lungs, or maybe you even have recurring infections, you’re gonna’ want to continue reading.
I’m going to tell you about three foods that cause mucus buildup so you can avoid these foods and start to heal.
There are many troublesome foods but there are three foods in particular that are harmful for many reasons. One of those reasons is that they cause mucus buildup.
What Foods Can Cause Congestion?
Here are the foods to avoid for congestion:
The first food is eggs. This is unfortunate because you hear so much about how eggs are so good for you, eggs are healthy and eggs are a great food for breakfast.
When i stopped buying eggs, I did run out of things to eat so it makes it really difficult. It is a quick breakfast food and you can have eggs for lunch, you use eggs for baking and you use them for all kinds of things.
With baking it’s not so bad because there are so many substitutes for eggs. You can make a chia egg or you can make a flax egg. You can also use applesauce, banana, etc. There are tons of substitutes for eggs for baking.
But as far as eating eggs as they are, unfortunately there’s no substitute. Eggs feed viruses too.
The next food is dairy. My husband told me a long time ago that dairy causes congestion. I didn’t believe him at first but then I started to notice it did cause me to feel congested. Ice cream would make me cough, for example.
I don’t notice it with these other foods but I really have noticed it with dairy.
The last of the foods that cause mucus buildup is gluten. This one is really surprising.
More Reasons to Avoid These Foods
These foods are also troublesome because they feed viruses.
Viruses are what is behind most chronic illness and autoimmune conditions, if not all of them.
What happens is, these foods cause mucus buildup and then the viruses hide behind the mucus and in the mucus so it’s harder to kill off the viruses.
If you can start to rid these foods from your diet or at least severely limit these foods in your diet, then it’s going to be easier to get to that virus to kill it off so you can begin to heal.
I wish you health and happiness,
